Facilities

Located on the first level of the newly renovated and recently expanded facilities of the Science Center, the Biology Department provides students with state-of-the-art equipment and research areas dedicated to student (undergraduate) and faculty research.

The department houses teaching laboratories, research space, modern instrumentation for molecular analysis, botanical and zoological collections, teaching models, field and aquatic biology equipment, and a greenhouse. 

Instrumentation includes preparative, micro and ultracentrifuges, thermocyclers, photo documentation stations, luminometer, micro titer palter reader, power supplies, electrophoresis equipment, microscopes (light, phase-contrast, inverted, and fluorescence), environmental control chambers, HPLC, G.C., spectrophotometers, a computer-interfaced physiograph, tissue culture facilities, and access to the science and mathematics computer labs.
