STUDENTS:
- The Biology department has a suggested curricula of study for 16 Pre-Professionals areas
- 2 minor programs are also offered
- Approximately 450 students; most graduates move on to graduate and professional schools to complete
advanced degrees
- Students interested in science and the environment are invited to join the Biology Club
- For the honor student, Sigma Zeta members participate in numerous activities each year.
FACULTY AND STAFF:
Statistics (for Fall 2007):
- The Biology Department currently has 17 fulltime faculty members and
20 adjunct instructors
- Biology faculty offer research opportunities to Biology majors who are then asked to present their findings at scientific forums
CURRICULUM:
- Students who are interested in other areas of the Biology field can tailor their focus on those particular areas of interest.
- lab courses with a maximum of 22 students
- Biology major lecture courses can be as many as 96 students
- Most upper division courses with less than 30 per class
- State-of-the-art instrumentation is present in our teaching and research labs and students have ready access to the labs
