STUDENTS:

The Biology department has a suggested curricula of study for 16 Pre-Professionals areas

2 minor programs are also offered

Approximately 450 students; most graduates move on to graduate and professional schools to complete advanced degrees

Students interested in science and the environment are invited to join the Biology Club

For the honor student, Sigma Zeta members participate in numerous activities each year.

Statistics (for Fall 2007):

The Biology Department currently has 17 fulltime faculty members and 20 adjunct instructors

Biology faculty offer research opportunities to Biology majors who are then asked to present their findings at scientific forums

CURRICULUM:

Students who are interested in other areas of the Biology field can tailor their focus on those particular areas of interest.

lab courses with a maximum of 22 students

Biology major lecture courses can be as many as 96 students

Most upper division courses with less than 30 per class

State-of-the-art instrumentation is present in our teaching and research labs and students have ready access to the labs
