Sigma Zeta, a National Honorary Society, has been active at the University of Southern Indiana for over 30 years. It recognizes students majoring in the sciences or mathematics who have earned 30 semester hours of credit (15 hrs of math and science classes) and achieved a minimum grade point average of 3.0. Students are nominated by faculty and the executive committee for membership into this organization. New members are accepted into the organization during a formal initiation ceremony.
Sigma Zeta members participate in several activities throughout the school year including judging science fairs, attending graduate school fairs, and presenting research at national meetings.
The Sigma Zeta Faculty advisor is Dr. R. Brent Summers (Biology).
