The Children's Learning Center is open Monday through Friday, 7 a.m.-5 p.m. The Center is closed only when the University closes. If classes are cancelled but University offices are open, the Center is open.
The center is closed the following days/dates:
Good Friday, Memorial Day, Fourth of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day and the following Friday; and Winter Recess, to be announced (Winter Recess occurs during the Christmas/New Year holiday season). The center does not provide child care services on the Thursday and Friday in August before the start of fall semester classes, in order to facilitate staff training and new student worker orientation.
Student or staff parents who are income-eligible and live in Vanderburgh County may apply for financial assistance for child care at the University of Southern Indiana. Most Indiana counties have child care vouchers available for income-eligible residents who need child care assistance to work or attend school.
The Children's Learning Center Manager has a Master's Degree in Human Development and Family Studies and oversees all Center activities. Each classroom is staffed with two teachers and assisted by student workers or other adults.
