Problem Description
This introductory lab is designed to familiarize the student with the
Mitsubishi robot and the MELFA program that is used for programming.
Inputs/Outputs
No inputs are used.
No outputs are used.
Operating Cycle
The students in each lab section are responsible for teaching the points that
will be used. The robot is to be programmed to start at the PHOME
position and move through each point in consecutive order, using joint
coordinate movements, from the first to last point taught. The robot is to
close the gripper at the last point. The robot is then to move through each
point in reverse order and end up at the PHOME position, where it will
open the gripper. The program is to end after the robot returns to home.
The file containing the point data will be stored on the lab computer and
should be copied onto the student's disk and renamed and edited. Because of
the file handling and naming conventions imposed by the software, students
will be assigned unique file names for their labs.
