Lab Assignment #2 Spring 2008
Problem
Description
This exercise is designed to teach the
student to use several of the movement commands available with the Mitsubishi
robot.
Operating
Cycle
1. The robot is to start at the PSAFE position.
2. The robot is to wait five seconds after
the program starts before closing the gripper to grasp a writing implement.
3. The robot should then draw the three
initials of the student's name in a 50mm x 300mm area.
4. The robot should return to the PSAFE
position when finished.
5. The robot should wait five seconds before
releasing the writing implement.
Suggestions
1. Lay out initials using CAD system or green
engineering graph paper.
2. Initials should consist of straight lines
and arcs.
3. Dimension the X and Y starting and ending
point of each straight line and the starting and ending point, as well as the
radius of any arcs. The Z elevation will be a constant that will be determined
based on the equipment setup.
4. The X and Y coordinates of the lower left
corner of the 50mm x 300mm area will be given in class.
5. Instructions for using the MVS and ARC
command will be given in class
