Pott Engineering Scholarships provide financial assistance for students majoring in engineering at
the University of Southern Indiana. Awards are made to eligible freshman and transfer students, and are renewable if the student continues to meet the scholarship's criteria and funding is available.
Pott Engineering Scholarships are awarded solely on the basis of interest in the engineering career field and demonstrated academic ability.
Recipients of Pott Engineering Scholarships may receive other forms of academic recognition and financial assistance for which they are qualified without jeopardizing their eligibility.
Who is eligible?
What is the Pott Engineering Scholarship worth?
For selected scholars, the University provides awards that pay $1,500 per academic year (fall and spring).
Is the scholarship renewable?
The award may be renewed automatically if the student enrolls full-time, continues to major in engineering, and earns a minimum 3.0 USI cumulative grade point average after two semesters of enrollment. Subsequent GPA evaluations will take place at the end of each academic year (at the conclusion of spring semester). A full-time student is defined as one who enrolls in at least 12 official semester hours each fall and spring.
Can this scholarship be cancelled?
This scholarship will be cancelled if renewal criteria are not met, and the scholarship ordinarily will not be reinstated.
How do I apply?
Interested persons must first apply for admission to USI as an Engineering major by March 1, prior to academic year of initial enrollment as a degree-seeking student. Scholarship applications are available from the Student Financial Aid Office. Applicants who are selected to receive the Pott Engineering Scholarship must enroll in the next regular semester (fall or spring) following the notification of award.
