The Department of Geology and Physics has a number of scholarships and awards for students who have demonstrated high levels of academic performance, either as a student in high school or as a Geology major or as an Earth-Space Science teaching major. The scholarships are awarded by faculty review of potential recipients in the late fall/early spring of each academic year. Where indicated, students may be required to submit an application form to be eligible to receive the award. The details of each award are listed below, along with links to the appropriate application forms, if required. Application forms for the Sill Field Camp award and the J.R. "Dick" Harris Scholarship are due to the Department Chair of Geology and Physics by January 22, 2010.

given to a geology major at USI with a minimum of 15 hours of completed
Geology coursework and a cumulative GPA of 3.00. Must complete a FORM

Environmental, Petroleum or Business -related issues.

is given to an incoming student who plans to major in geology or to a student
who is changing their major to geology program at USI with the hope that they

May be used for tuition, fees, and books. Preference will be given to
children and stepchildren of members of the Indiana Oil & Gas Association
and to children and stepchildren of oil and gas industry workers pursuing a
