Evansville Sports Corporation (ESC)

The Esc Intern serves as support to the Executive Director.  This person is reponsible for a variety of services including but not limited to: creating sponsorship proposals; generating community engagement; activating marketing and public relations initiatives; assisting in coordinating all aspects of events and other projects as required by the Executive Director.  the ESC Intern must possess the ability to interact with local business and community leaders in a professional manner and represent the Sports Corporation at designated functions.  Please click here for additional information.

Baseball Youth Experience Summer Internship
Dugout Media is currently looking for energetic college students with a passion for sports marketing to be a part of our 2013 Baseball Youth Experience Tour Staff this summer.  We are looking to fill close to 50 spots with interns such as your students.  We have been running these types of tours for 8 years, and in the past have provided internships for college students throughout the country.  Such Universities include University of Kentucky, Clemson University, California State University San Francisco, University of Cincinnati, Ohio State, South Carolina, Northern Kentucky University, ETSU, Morehead State etc.

This PAID internship lasts from mid-May to late August, and all staff will be on the road during this time. On top of a bi-weekly pay, expenses such as lodging, food and travel will be covered.

Intern Responsibilities:  Customer service, Sports scheduling, Instruction for Kids camps, leagues, lessons when applicable. Concession sales and food service. Enrollment and facility tours and other tasks as needed.

Interns must be flexible and willing/available to work a wide variety of hours.

Interns must be available for training prior to the semester they intend to work. Interested students must apply at least one month before the semester in which they wish to intern.

Set routes based on difficulty

Responsibilities: Conduct Physical Warm-Ups for Vinyl Daze, Real Country & Rejoice Performance Groups. Provide a variety of stretching techniques to maintain and improve flexibility, enhance performance aesthetically and technically, provide information on injury prevention, take notes during shows to correct body angles and motions, provide information and current research to enhance performer's knowledge of body, and assist with increasing performer's body awareness and proprioception. Interns will work in all aspects of sports department including operations, league coaching, developing promotional materials, inputting data, department maintenance, and other managerial functions as determined by the supervisor. Fall/Spring 2015/2016 Internship Opportunities

Interns will be doing the following:

  • Collaborating with management team on marketing, design, product & service development, public relations and communications projects
  • Conducting research on consumer insights and competing local businesses
  • Creating monthly reports using Google Analytics and Facebook campaigns
  • Managing social media channels such as Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter
  • Creating dynamic new marketing materials to present directly to management team as part of an 8-week project
  • Working directly alongside management to learn effective leadership tools and tactics
  • Work independently as a Manager on Duty when other management is not on site
  • Obtaining consumer and marketplace insights through focus groups, trend research, and retail visits
  • Assisting in hiring and interview process for new job applicants
  • Analyzing processes for injuries, reporting injuries, mitigating risk of injuries

Intern Qualifications:

  • Must be pursuing a degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Public Relations, Exercise Science, Advertising, Sports Management, Kinesiology or other related field
  • Must maintain a 3.0 GPA and good standing with USI
  • Must be enrolled in classes at USI
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Work well in a fast-paced team environment
  • Possess strong computer skills with design experience a plus
