Fall, Spring, and Summer Internship responsibilities include performing duties necessary to facilitate efficient operations of the Mead Johnson Nutrition employee Fitness Center. The tasks will match the specific talents of each intern. Interested students should send a letter of interest including:

  1. Vital statistics (name, phone, etc.).
  2. A few sentences stating what the student plans to do with their degree in the first three years.
  3. A sentence providing an explanation of why the student chose fitness.
  4. Sentence describing the student's favorite workout.

As an Athletic Republic intern, your first priority is to engage with the athlete, administer Athletic Republic programs effectively, continue your education, and gain valuable experience in athlete development.

  •  Must have at least one semester of college level anatomy/physiology, it is also recommended to have a kinesiology  or biomechanics background

The National Institute for Fitness and Sport (NIFS), in Indianapolis, IN, has intern positions available for the Fall, Spring, and Summer semesters for qualified undergraduate and graduate students in exercise science, exercise physiology, sport science, wellness/health promotion, or other related fields. Created as a not-for-profit organization to promote active and healthy lifestyles, the mission of NIFS is to enhance the health, physical fitness, and athletic performance for people of all ages and abilities. Mercy's Center for Health Promotion of Canton, OH offers internships to undergraduate/graduate students enrolled in exercise physiology, health promotion, exercise science, and/or related fields. Center for Health Promotion offers experience in phases II, III, IV of cardiac rehabilitation, health fitness, employee fitness, strength and conditioning, special populations, and community wellness. The programs offer opportunities to gain hands-on experience in exercise testing/recommendation, body composition assessment, exercise supervision/leadership, patient/health education, program development/marketing. Applicants should possess strong interpersonal and communication skills and a willingness to learn. CPR certification coverage required. Elite Sports Clubs, Brookfield, Wisconsin, has internships available fall, spring, & summer semesters for qualified undergraduate students in Exercise Science, Fitness, Sports Management or related field. A monthly stipend is provided to selected interns. Elite Sports Clubs is a multi-purpose club having health and fitness programs for adults and children. Interns can look forward to performing submaximal bike tests, body composition, strength and flexibility tests, exercise prescriptions, fitness orientations, and job shadowing. Presidential Towers Health Club managed by TCA is located in Chicago, Illinois.  This unique club is offering a superior opportunity to undergraduate students wishing to participate in the management of a Chicago health club. Positions require a minimum of 40 hours/week for 12-16 weeks and a current CPR certification.  Experiences include: exercise leadership, fitness assessments, facility management, programming, budget preparation, marketing and concludes with a single comprehensive project of interest to the intern. NCAA Postgraduate Internship
The NCAA Postgraduate Internship is a one-year program that provides on-the-job learning experiences for college graduates who express an interest in pursuing a career in intercollegiate athletics administration based at the NCAA national office in Indianapolis, Indiana.
The on-line application for the 2011-12 Postgraduate Internship has been closed.  No applications are currently being accepted.

Enforcement Intern: General position summary:Support and assist the enforcement staff in investigating, processing, and overseeing violations of NCAA bylaws.

Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Intern: General position summary:As a primary function, this position is responsible for providing assistance in the planning and execution of the Division I Men's and Women's Basketball Championships. The intern's duties cover a wide range of topics involved in administering the Championships, including game operations, officiating, ticketing, community engagement, media coordination, facility coordination, ancillary event planning and site selection.

Kraft Foods, Inc., located in Glenview and Northfield, Illinois; Tarrytown, New York; and East Hanover, New Jersey has internships available at the Kraft Foods Fitness Center (managed by Tennis Corporation of America) for undergraduate students (junior or senior), studying in the areas of exercise science, physical education, athletic training, or related field. Interns will be responsible for adhering to fitness center protocols, member interaction, administering fitness evaluations and prescriptions/orientations, group exercise presentations, promotional displays, facility and administrative duties. Current certification in CPR and First Aid are required.
