Eligibility Requirements
- Entering freshman majoring in mathematics
- Enrollment status
- Majoring in mathematics
- Residency Requirement
- U.S. Citizen or legally residing in the United States
- Enrolling as a full-time student
- Must successfully complete 30 credit hours each year the scholarship is received
- Must be enrolled in a least one math class satisfying a requirement of the major after the first semester (Student may take Math 115 or Math 118 the first semester of his or her freshman year.)
- Academic requirements
- Have a minimum high school g.p.a. of 3.3 out of a possible 4.0
- Have a minimum of either a 600 on the Math SAT or a 26 on the Math ACT
- Selection decisions
- Made by Admissions with approval of a committee appointed by the Chair of the Department of Mathematics
- Selection based on merit
- Renewable requirements
- Maintain a minimum USI g.p.a. of 3.0 through 62 credit hours and a minimum 3.3 thereafter
- Maintain a minimum 2.75 g.p.a. in all math classes fulfilling the major after completing 62 semester hours
- Demonstrate the ability to successfully complete a bachelor's degree in mathematics within 4 1/2 years
- The applicant may receive other forms of academic assistance without jeopardizing his/her eligibility as long as maximum financial aid does not exceed cost of board, room, tuition, fees and books.

*This half-tuition scholarship is automatically renewed each year for a total of four years if the recipient continues to meet all of the stated requirements.
