Carmichael Training Systems (CTS)

Carmichael Training Systems invites applications for a coaching internship. CTS is currently involved in the success of many top professional athletes in addition to the development of aspiring age-group athletes in many endurance based sports including cycling, running, multisport, and rowing. Intern responsibilities include monitoring and developing CTS training programs, providing athletes written and spoken feedback to questions regarding all aspects of their training, and assisting senior coaching faculty with projects of interest. Applicants must be at least in pursuing coaching as a career. Relevant coursework should include Basic Anatomy and Physiology, Exercise Physiology, Biomechanics, and Nutrition (sports nutrition). The applicant should also possess a basic knowledge of exercise testing and prescription and periodization training. A competitive endurance background is highly recommended. Internships are offered for four or six month terms in our Colorado Springs office and positions are made available based on the needs of the company and intern availability. Interns are expected to work a minimum of 40 hours weekly and participate in training camps as scheduled. Monthly stipends are available for qualified applicants. Upon successful completion of the program, interns have the opportunity to enter a coaching career track with CTS.

Fall, Spring, and Summer interns are needed for the Evansville location. Main responsibilities will include ensuring athlete, parent, and coach satisfaction by helping incoming athletes and telephone callers in any way possible; supporting the trainers and Facility Director with word processing, data entry, mailing and information control; and assisting in athlete work outs (warm-up, plyometric sessions and strength training) in any way needed. Job activities will include greeting all incoming athletes and informing training staff of the athlete's arrival; preparing the athlete's work out sheets and charts; scheduling athletes according to facility procedures; entering athlete data into AIMS; cleaning and maintaining the appearance of the facility throughout and at the end of the work day; professionally interacting with the athletes, coaches, and parents; using equipment as directed; doing any other work assigned by the Head Trainer; and performing all assigned work efficiently and on schedule.

The University of Evansville, Strength & Conditioning Internship

This non-paying internship intends to provide an intensive, advanced theoretical and practical exposure to the principles and methods utilized in the training and development of athletes. Interns will report and work directly alongside the Head Strength Coach. Qualifications: pursuing a Bachelors or Master's degree in Exercise Science or related field. Athletes Performance Institute of Indiana

Athletes Performance Institute of Indiana is offering summer internships specializing in Sports Management degree seeking students. APII is a junior high and high school level athlete training company that needs motivated, creative and knowledgeable interns to help run the management side of the business. Qualified candidates must possess excellent written and oral communication skills, an awareness of the athlete mindset, and the ability to work within time lines. APII currently operates out of Swonder Ice Arena on Boeke Rd in Evansville.

Responsibilities would include but are not limited to:

·         Daily upkeep of performance and attendance records

·         Driving our social media to desired markets and updating current athlete/client achievements

·         Assisting in the development and execution of business generating promotions and marketing

·         Creating quality control surveys and administering them to clients

  This is a very interactive position with the owner of the company to help manage APII from a business perspective. This position could lead to future paying positions within the company.
