USI has an Einstein@Home team that all faculty, students, administrators, and friends of USI are invited to join.
Einstein@Home is a project developed to search for gravatational waves predicted by Einstein's Theory of General Relativity. It relies upon the donatations of computer time from people like you and me. It runs in the background, only using your computer's power when you are not. More details can be learned from the American Institute of Physics E@H homepage.
To join, simply go to the webpage by clicking Einstein@Home. Then after creating an account, you can download the software needed to run so that your computer can in its spare time be making contributions to research initiated by Dr. Einstein's General Theory of Relativity. Once you have done this, be sure you have joined the University of Southern Indiana team. This should be the case if you use the above link.
The software exists for Linux, Windows and Macs. If there are any questions please email sjrobinson@usi.edu
