The Basic Laws of Nature
Physics describes such phenomena as electricity, light, sound, magnetism, forces, energies, and heat. Since physics is the study of the most basic laws of nature, it is useful to all well-educated individuals, as well as being required of all science majors.
The physics program culminates in a Bachelor of Science degree in biophysics which will prepare the student for a career in a scientific discipline or to attend graduate school. The physics program also offers a minor in physics, a minor in biophysics or a secondary education certification in physics.
Beginning physics is taught at three different levels at the University in order to accommodate students with diverse backgrounds and goals.
