Projectile motion in the (almost) absence of air resistance

The figure shows a trail of bombs being dropped from an airplane. Note that they are aligned vertically; no bomb is lagging behind the others. They will still be under the plane when they hit the ground. The bombs have the same velocity (initially) as the plane, so they continue to fall directly under the plane: their horizontal velocity is always the same as the plane's.
