The Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education has more than 118 scholarships and awards.  

Our featured scholarship program is the Teaching Eagles Scholarship ProgramThe purpose of the Teaching Eagles Scholarship Program is to increase the number of content-rich, classroom-ready science and mathematics teacher candidates graduating from the University of Southern Indiana. The program is designed to recruit science and mathematics teacher candidates from the large pool of students majoring in STEM fields (Secondary Teaching Eagles) and to recruit elementary education majors who wish to minor in mathematics or science content (Elementary Teaching Eagles).  The program will support approximately 90 students to pursue degrees in STEM Education fields. The program is housed in the Pott College of Science, Engineering, and Education and is funded by the Indiana STEM Teacher Recruitment Fund, which is administered by the Indiana Education Roundtable.

Baccalaureate/Doctor of Medicine Scholarships

Criteria: Baccalaureate/Doctor of Medicine (B/MD) Scholarships are awarded annually to six exceptional students who are residents of Indiana, entering in the fall as USI freshmen, scoring at least a combined score of 1800 (including writing) or 1200 (excluding writing) from one test date on the SAT or 27 composite score on the ACT, and earning a high school GPA of at least 3.5 (4.0). The scholarship offers full tuition waiver and a provisional seat in the Indiana University School of Medicine. May not be awarded to a graduating senior.

Criteria: Recipient must be a beginning early childhood student pursuing an Associates Degree in early childhood and must have completed at least 24 hours of college coursework toward degree. Recipient must have a 3.0 and show a need for true financial need. Money must be used toward coursework, books, and fees. Recipients must submit a typewritten essay describing a personal vision of an excellent early childhood education program to Dr. Jane Meyer, Chair of Selection Committee. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. Not renewable. Recipient must be enrolled during the coming academic year in order to receive this scholarship. Student Financial Aid must validate need.
D. J. Angus Scientech Recognition Award

Criteria: Engineering student entering sophomore or junior or senior year when presented the "Most Improved Student" award to serve both as an award and as impetus for continued excellence. Recipient shall have shown the greatest improvement in GPA from 1 year/semester to the next and who displays good citizenship. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. One year scholarship, but students may reapply. To apply for this scholarship, submit an application form to the Department of Mathematics by the third Friday in January of the year in which the scholarship is to be awarded. If additional information is needed, applicants will be contacted by the selection committee.

Criteria: An annual scholarship for a math major enrolled as full-time student in the previous fall and spring semesters. Must successfully complete 15 hours each semester scholarship is received. Must be enrolled in at least one math class satisfying a requirement of the major each semester the scholarship is received. Applicants must submit a one-page max essay "Mathematics and My Future" to the Dept of Math by Feb 1. Not Automatically renewable, but student may reapply for a second or third year. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. This scholarship will provide funds to cover half the cost of tuition (at the in-state tuition rate) for all credit hours enrolled by the student during the fall and spring semesters. To apply for this scholarship, submit an application form to the Chairman of the Department of Mathematics no later than the third Friday in January of the year in which the scholarship is to be awarded. Criteria: A renewable scholarship for a math major entering USI with high school min. 3.3 GPA and SAT math score min. 600 or 26 on the math ACT score and applied for admission by March 1. A min. of 30 credit hrs. must be completed each year scholarship is received. Automatically renewable with 3.0 GPA through 62 hrs. and min. 3.3 there after. Must be enrolled in at least 1 math class each fall & spring semester & demonstrate ability to complete bachelor's degree in 4.5 years. May receive other financial aid as long as max financial aid does not exceed cost of tuition, room/board, fees and books. May not be awarded to a graduating senior. This scholarship will provide funds to cover half the cost of tuition (at the in-state tuition rate) for all credit hours enrolled by the student during the fall, spring or summer term.
