Submission Guidelines

We accept manuscripts between September and May for our annual fall and spring issues. Submissions received after the deadline will be considered for the next issue. All work must be titled and pages numbered. Only international e-mail submissions are accepted at this time.

Cover Letter
Please submit your work with one cover letter including:

Poetry
May be on any subject or in any form. Please send no more than five poems. For more information about poetry submissions, click here.

Fiction
Short stories, experimental or humorous pieces, film scripts, or short novel excerpts are accepted. Submissions should be limited to 20 pages or less, typed, double-spaced, 12 point (Pica). For more information about fiction submissions, click here.

Nonfiction
Creative essays may be personal, critical, historical, nostalgic. They may be reviews, profiles, interviews, or discussions regarding social or intellectual history or ideas. For more information about nonfiction submissions, click here.

Photographs
Send photos with submissions or alone. Each photo must be 5x7 or larger. Captions, dates, and identification of subjects are required. Black and white photography preferred. Color slides accepted. Work in vertical format encouraged.

Art
All two-dimensional work is welcome. Three dimensional work may be submitted on slides. Description of medium used, date, and title of work are required.

All work is taken seriously. First time writers are welcome. We recommend using MLA style for notes and citations. We prefer originality, energy, and clarity.

Submit work to the address below. If you wish a reply, send a SASE with proper postage affixed. Expect a definite reply within six weeks of the end of the reading period. Manuscripts are not returned.  Simultaneous submissions are accepted.
