Spring 2010 Interns
Jarrod Daeger
is a junior at USI studying advertising, public relations, and English.
Orginially from North Vernon, Indiana, he spends most of his free time with
family, outdoors, or watching sports. He hopes to follow up his undergraduate
degree by going to grad school somewhere in the Midwest.
Morgane Embree
is a sophomore at USI majoring in communication studies. She enjoys reading,
watching old movies (especially those with Jimmy Stewart), and coloring. Her
favorite animal is a giraffe.
After
surviving the tribulations of English 459,
Jaime Garner
is one of the few to go onto the SIR internship. As a junior English major she
is beginning the dreadful process of studying the for the GRE and in turn
applying to grad school. She hopes to go onto Emerson College to the Writing and
Publishing graduate program, with the hope to one day become a disgruntled
editor and have her own publishing company.
Chris Lynn is
a junior at USI majoring in English with an emphasis on creative writing and
minoring in classical studies. He loves to travel and eat the spiciest foods he
can find. He plays guitar and is the vocalist for his band, Zgowonto Lizards. He
can’t wait to travel to Italy in May in hopes that he’ll find some nice, fresh
inspiration for new writing.
Megan Morrison
is a senior honors student majoring in English: creative writing and psychology,
with a minor in gender studies. Her piece, “Stand,” inspired by Rick Moody’s
short story “Boys,” was recently accepted for publication in the 2010 issue of FishHook coming out next fall.
Josh Pietrowski
is a senior studying writing at USI. He spends most of his time out of class
working. He has a golden retriever named Robert, an affection for trouble, and a
violent love for the game of hockey. He recently won his first literary award
for a poem, and has also had pieces accepted for publication in the 2010 edition
of Fishook, USI’s student literary magazine. He is happiest when he is
with his friends, sitting in front of a plate prime rib, or watching Michigan
football.
Jennifer
Rathgeber is a senior at USI. She will graduate in May with a degree in
public relations and advertising and a minor in marketing. Along with her
internship at SIR she is also interning at the Lampion Center and works part
time for South Central Media. After graduation Jennifer has no idea what she
will be doing with her life.
Lauren Rivera
is a sophomore studying English and Spanish. She enjoys reading in both
languages and writing in English, but hasn’t yet managed to combine the two
interests in Spanish.
Lauren Van
Hook is a junior at USI double-majoring in English and French education. She
is the USI Service Learning Coordinator and is very involved in USI's volunteer

her master’s in administrative teaching.
Vanessa Wagner is
currently a senior English major with an emphasis in rhetoric and composition.
She will be pursuing a career in publishing and editing and, upon graduating in
May, will be returning to her hometown of Indianapolis, Indiana. Vanessa enjoys

anything. In addition to interning at SIR, Vanessa has gotten involved on campus
by partcipating in the Student Government Association and within her sorority,
Alpha Sigma Alpha.
Bob Wolfley
is a senior and plans on graduating in May of this year with a degree in
advertising. He currently serves as student body president and hopes to attend
the University of Texas-Austin for graduate school. If Bob does not attend UT in
