Poetry
I like poems with tension and poise, both. Free or formal verse. Poems that risk
sentimentality in favor of genuine connection. I’m looking for work that moves,
transports; pieces that make me laugh, cry, nod my head in silent recognition. I
badly want work that teaches me something new. When it comes to good poetry,
borrowing from Supreme Court Justice Potter Stewart’s take on obscenity, “I know
it when I see it.” And I’ll see it when you send it.
