Social Work Minor

Social work positions are expected to increase 36% or more by the year 2012.

For students planning to major in a degree program in the helping professions, the 18-hour Minor in Social Work combines theory with application to prepare students for a career working with individuals, groups or communities, and positions that deal with social service systems.

Social Work Electives - 6 hours  (3 hrs of electives must be at the 300-400 level)
Two electives to be chosen from:
SOCW 223 - Introduction to Gerontology
SOCW 225 - Child Welfare Services
SOCW 238 - Disabilities in Contemporary Society
SOCW 323 - Social Work Practice with the Aged
SOCW 390 - Independent Study in Social Work
SOCW 400 - Special Topics in Human Service Practice
