HIGH SCHOOL: Earned letters in baseball, basketball, and football at North High School (Evansville, Indiana)...member of the NHS squad that was the Indiana finalist in 2005...received the N-Men's Award for Baseball (award is given for leadership).
SUMMER BASEBALL: Played five seasons for Eugene Pate American Legion...member of the Pate state title team...led the team in home runs in 2005.
PERSONAL: Born February 9, 1987...son of Donald and Kathy Mercer...brother of current USI volleyball Head Coach Leah Mercer.
