HIGH SCHOOL: Lettered in baseball at  Hamilton County High School (McLeansboro, Illinois)...helped the Foxes to the 2002 regional championship.

HIGH SCHOOL: Played for West Lafayette High School (West Lafayette, Indiana) where he lettered in baseball and football...was first team All-State, All-Area, and All-Conference as a senior when he hit .531 with four home runs and 41 RBIs.
