Lengacher signs with USI
The University of Southern Indiana baseball team announced the signing of Bob Lengacher (Loogootee, Indiana) to a letter of intent for the 2003 season. Lengacher is the second player to sign with USI Head Coach Mike Goedde this year.
Lengacher will transfer to USI from Lincoln Trail College in Robinson, Illinois. The right-handed pitcher was 6-2 this year for LTC, posting a 2.77 ERA in 63 innings of work. The honorable mention All-Great Rivers Athletic Conference performer also had a 3.5 to 1 strikeout to walk ratio, fanning 49 batters as a sophomore.
Prior to attending LTC, Lengacher graduated from Loogootee High School where he was a four-year letter winner in baseball. He helped lead the Lions to the 2000 sectional championship as a junior.
“Bob will help solidify our pitching staff and help offset the loss of senior Steve Arnold,” Goedde explained. “Bob is a power pitcher with the ability to someday pitch at 90 mph. We are fortunate to have Bob with our program.”
