Nathan Arnold |
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana senior left-hander
Nathan Arnold (Evansville, Indiana) was named honorable mention All-GLVC in a vote by the conference coaches. The conference honor was the first of Arnold's career.
Arnold finished the 2006 campaign by recording a 1.36 ERA, which tied the 27-year old USI single-season record set by Dave Sensenbrenner in 1979. He allowed just 10 earned runs in 66.1 innings of work to produce an ERA that ranks seventh nationally in the NCAA Division II.
The senior also set the USI single-game record for innings pitched by going 11.2 in a losing effort against the University of Missouri-St. Louis. He also finished his career ranked fifth all-time at USI with a 2.95 ERA
For the season, Arnold led the Eagles in complete games (7) was second in opponent batting average (.256) and was third in strikeouts (45). This year's win-loss category was the one low note for Arnold, who was 2-6 and lost four 1-0 games.
