Julian transfers to USI

EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana baseball team announced the transfer of Cory Julian (Lynnville, Indiana) from the University of Evansville. Julian is the eighth player to commit to USI and Head Coach Tracy Archuleta this summer.

Julian has appeared in 33 games during his two years with the Aces, compiling a 6.32 ERA in 24.2 innings of work. He also struck out 17 batters over the two seasons.

Prior to joining the Aces program, Julian was a three-sport letterwinner and a two-sport All-State selection at Tecumseh High School (Lynnville, Indiana). He was 8-4 with a 1.35 ERA as a senior, striking out 156 batters in 85 innings of work. The left-handed hurler led THS to the 2003 state title by tossing a one hitter in the Indiana semifinals and recorded a 30-6 career record with 433 strikeouts.

"We are excited to have another talented and local player join are team," said Archuleta. "Cory has a lot of potential and we look forward to working with him."

Julian joins junior right-handers Daniel Dollison, Brook Meier, Aaron Schmitt, and Nicholas Yoder as new pitchers for 2007. Also signing with the Eagles for 2007 are junior infielder Kevin O'Hair, junior catcher Garrett Oros, and junior infielder/outfielder Matthew Pleiss.
