USI ranked second in first region poll
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana baseball team was ranked second in the first NCAA Division II North Central Region poll of the season. The regional ranking is the first for USI since 1999.
The top six teams in each region qualify for the NCAA Division II Tournament that is scheduled for May17-20.
USI (31-12, 19-8 GLVC), which was ranked 29th nationally in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper this week, starts action this weekend in the GLVC's top spot. The Eagles are a half-game ahead of Bellarmine in the conference standings.
