USI wins with six in the sixth
Box Score: Southern Indiana 6, Oakland City 4
EVANSVILLE, Ind.. – The University of Southern Indiana baseball team came from behind with a six-run sixth to defeat Oakland City University, 6-4, Wednesday afternoon at the USI Baseball Field. USI raises its record to 4-6 overall, while OCU starts the year 0-4.

After spotting the Mighty Oaks three runs through five-and-a-half innings, the Screaming Eagles put together three two-run singles in the bottom of the sixth to take a 6-3 lead. USI senior first baseman
Matt Pleiss (Newburgh, Indiana) put the Eagles on the board with a two-run single up the middle to make the score 3-2.

Wes Fink (Clarksville, Tennessee) gave USI the lead, 4-3, with a two-run single to left. The Eagles finished the scoring three batters later when sophomore catcher
Josh Jarboe (Connersville, Indiana) drove a two-run single to left to make the score, 6-3.
After OCU scored a run in the seventh to close the gap to 6-4, USI junior right-hander
Shaun Larsen (Tell City, Indiana) shut the door on the Mighty Oaks. Larsen allowed just two hits and struck out three in three innings and earned his third save of the year.

P.J. Thomas (Jeffersonville, Indiana) started the game and posted his first victory of the year as an Eagle. Thomas (1-0) went six-plus innings and allowed eight hits and four runs, two earned. He also struck out eight OCU batters.
The Eagles conclude the homestand this weekend with a three-game series against Wayne State University. The first pitch for Saturday's doubleheader and Sunday's nine-inning contest is scheduled for noon each day.
