USI baseball hosts NKU Wednesday
Eagles move up to 25th nationally
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana baseball team will host Northern Kentucky University for a non-conference single game at the USI Baseball Field on Wednesday. The first pitch is scheduled for 1 p.m.
The Screaming Eagles (26-12) return home after a successful 3-1 road trip to Rockhurst University on Sunday and Monday. USI junior second baseman Josh Huebner (Evansville, Indiana) led the way on the road trip by batting .529 with four runs scored and three RBIs.
The Norse of NKU (24-14) have been on roll since the end of March, winning 13 of their last 14. NKU's season-best 12-game winning streak was snapped over the weekend at home by the University of Indianapolis.
USI leads the all-time series with NKU, 40-34, after taking two of three from the Norse last season.
Nationally, the Eagles moved up 25th in the Collegiate Baseball Newspaper Division II Poll, up three places from last week. USI's highest season ranking was sixth back in February.
