– The University of Southern Indiana baseball team tied a school record with its 12th straight win Friday afternoon at the USI Baseball Field, defeating Drury University, 4-2, to start a four-game series. USI raises its record to 15-5 overall, 5-0 in the GLVC, and 1-0 in the West Division, while Drury falls to 13-9 overall, 4-1 GLVC, and 0-1 in the West.
The 12-straight victories ties the record set by the 1992 and 1993 squads.
The Screaming Eagles earned the record tying win by coming from behind for the fourth straight game. USI spotted Drury a 1-0 lead in the top of the second before senior rightfielder Chad Werry
(New Harmony, Indiana) and sophomore catcher Dylan Mooney
(St. Charles, Missouri) combined to drive in four runs to provide the margin of victory.
Mooney started the USI scoring with a two-run single in the bottom of the second to give the Eagles a 2-1 lead. Werry completed the Eagle scoring with RBI singles in the fourth and the eighth innings to seal the win.
The USI bats were complimented by the very strong pitching performances of junior right-hander Tyler Choate

(Tell City, Indiana). Choate (4-1) earned the victory by scattering seven hits, allowing two runs, one earned, and striking out six over eight innings of work.
Larsen recorded his sixth save of the year by pitching a perfect ninth inning, striking out one batter.
