USI baseball signs Rounder
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana baseball team announced the signing of infielder Reece Rounder to a national letter of intent for the 2010 season. The signing is the first for USI baseball and Head Coach Tracy Archuleta this spring.
Rounder is currently a senior at North High School in Evansville, Indiana, where he has lettered in baseball and basketball. He is third on the Huskies with a .414 batting average this spring, while leading the team with 12 RBIs, 10 runs scored, and two doubles.
"USI is excited to sign a talented local player who should be able to contribute right away," said Archuleta. "Reece is solid defensively and has shown that he can handle the bat well."
The 22nd-ranked Screaming Eagles are 34-12 in 2009 and led the GLVC West Division by four games. USI resumes play Wednesday at Kentucky Wesleyan College and concludes the GLVC schedule and the regular season Saturday and Sunday at Quincy University.
