May to transfer to USI
The University of Southern Indiana men’s basketball team announced the transfer of Scott May, Jr., (Bloomington, Indiana) from Indiana University. May is the eighth player to commit to USI and Head Coach Rick Herdes this year.
May will have three years of eligibility at USI, beginning with the 2003-04 season.
The 6’0” guard did not play as a walk-on last year at Indiana. May was one of the state’s top defensive guards as a senior at Bloomington (Indiana) North High School and averaged 7.5 points, 6.5 assists, and 2.5 steals per game in 2000-01.
May is the son of former Hoosier Scott May, Sr., who played two seasons for Indiana and was a member of the 1976 NCAA Division I National Championship team.
“I am pleased to have Scott with us for a year so he can learn the system,” said Herdes. “During that time, he will be able to prepare himself to play a major role in the next three seasons.”
