USI men’s basketball remains seventh in the Great Lakes Regional rankings
The University of Southern Indiana men’s basketball team remained seventh in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region poll of 2003.
The Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference’s Michigan Tech University is the region leader with a 16-1 record. MTU is followed by the GLVC’s Kentucky Wesleyan College (13-2), Northern Kentucky University (14-3), the University of Indianapolis (12-4), and Lewis University (13-3).
Indianapolis made the biggest jump in the poll, moving from eighth to fourth. KWC followed Indianapolis, jumping from fifth to second.
USI, which is 11-4 overall and 6-3 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference, starts a two-game road trip at Saint Joseph’s College Thursday, January 22, in Rensselaer, Indiana. The Screaming Eagles finish the road trip in Kenosha, Wisconsin, Saturday, January 24, at the University of Wisconsin-Parkside. Game time Thursday is 7:30 p.m., while Saturday’s contest will begin at 3:15 p.m.
The NCAA Division II Tournament has been expanded to 64 teams this year with eight teams coming from each region.
