USI menís basketball moves up in national and regional poll

The University of Southern Indiana menís basketball team was ranked 25th in the NABC/Division II Bulletin Top 25 poll and fourth in the NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region poll this week. The Screaming Eagles moved in the polls after defeating 10th-ranked Northern Kentucky University in overtime and the University of Indianapolis on the road.

Regionally, the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conferenceís Michigan Tech University leads way, while Kentucky Wesleyan College remained second. Lewis University, USIís opponent on Saturday, rose to third in the region while Northern Kentucky and Indianapolis dropped to fifth and seventh, respectively.

Nationally, Kentucky Wesleyan remained the top ranked team in the Great Lakes Valley Conference at the fourth slot. Lewis University rose to 12th, while Northern Kentucky fell to 19th after losing twice last week.

Michigan Tech is the nationís top ranked team with a 24-1 overall. Michigan Tech also has been the top ranked team in the Great Lakes Region all season.
