Tailgate party planned for the November 6
USI vs. UE in the Vectren Community Classic
University of Southern Indiana students, alumni, and fans are invited to take part in the pre-game festivities leading up to the Vectren Community Classic which features one of the biggest exhibition basketball games to be played at Roberts Stadium – Screaming Eagles versus the Purple Aces.
The match-up, November 6 at 7:05 p.m., will be the first time ever that the two teams have played on the hardwood. The Eagles are hoping to take the 2004-05 season one step further after finishing the 2003-04 season as the NCAA Division II National Finalist and a 28-7 overall record.
USI also returns the NCAA II Great Lakes Regional Most Outstanding Player in senior guard Cris Brunson and the Eagles’ CBS Player of the Game in senior forward/center Randy Holbrook.
The tailgate party – sponsored by the USI Alumni Association, the USI Varsity Club, the USI Staff Council, Student Government Association, Activities Programming Board, Lewis Bakeries, Schnucks, and Wesselman’s – begins at 5 p.m. in the Hartke Pool parking lot. Grilled hot dogs and soft drinks will be provided free of charge to tailgating fans. Alcohol is prohibited.
Tickets for the Vectren Community Classic are available during normal business hours at the Roberts Stadium box office (476-1383, ext. 25), the UE athletics department ticket office at Carson Center (479-ACES), or through any TicketMaster outlet or TicketMaster.com. Tickets sold through Roberts Stadium and the University of Evansville are not subject to a service fee. Tickets are $15 and $10 for adults. Youth and senior citizen tickets are priced as low as $7.
Eagles-Bearcats tickets available in the USI Athletic Department
Ticket for the University of Southern Indiana-University of Cincinnati men’s basketball exhibition game, scheduled for November 13, can be reserved at the USI Ticket Office at 812/465-7165. Ticket prices are $22 each.
A fan bus to the game is scheduled to leave and return on November 13. The price is $50, which includes the cost of the bus and the game ticket. For more information, call the USI Special Events Office at 812/464-1930.
