KANSAS CITY, Mo. - Virginia Union, which has opened the season with four impressive victories, has been selected as the top-ranked team in NCAA Division II in the first regular season ranking of the season as conducted by coaches representing the NABC Congress.

The Panthers, who were 25-5 last season and won the Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association title, received five first place votes and 195 points overall. Rollins, who has also opened with four straight wins, is ranked second in the initial regular season poll and got two first place tallies. The top five is rounded out by Washburn, Southern Indiana and Montevallo, who beat defending NCAA Division II champion Kennesaw State Saturday. KSU is ranked sixth in the first poll.
