Hall named GLVC Player of the Week
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana junior guard Melvin Hall (Evansville, Indiana) was named the GLVC Player of the Week for his efforts in the Screaming Eagles' sweep of the University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Lewis University last week. Hall is the second USI player to earn conference honors this season.
In the 83-61 victory over UW-Parkside, Hall was second on the team with 17 points and tied for the team lead with four assists. He shot 66.7 percent from the field (6-9) and 71.4 percent from beyond the three-point line (5-7).
Hall recorded his first double-double of the year in USI's 60-49 victory over Lewis. He dropped in a game-high 15 points and tied for the team lead with 10 rebounds, eight off the defensive glass.
For the week, Hall averaged 16.0 ppg and 6.5 rpg, while shooting 50 percent from the field (12-24) and 53.3 percent from beyond the three-point line (8-15). He also averaged four assists in the two contests.
The Eagles conclude the three-game homestand Saturday when they host Bryan College for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
