USI men's basketball ranked second in first regional poll

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team was ranked second in the first NCAA Division II Great Lakes Regional poll of the year. The next poll will be released January 31.
The University of Findlay of the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was ranked first in the poll while the GLVC's Quincy University and Northern Kentucky University were third and fourth, respectively. Grand Valley State University rounded out the top five.
Of the top five region teams, four are ranked in the top 20. Findlay started the week ranked sixth, while GVSU was eighth and USI was ninth. Quincy fell out of the top 10 this week to 18th.
USI will look to advance in the rankings this week when it goes on the road to play Lewis University Thursday at 7:30 p.m. and the University of Wisconsin-Parkside Saturday at 3:15 p.m.
