Men's basketball remains second in region poll
EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team remained second in the latest NCAA Division II Great Lakes Region poll that was released Wednesday. USI, which is ranked 12th nationally, continues to trail the GLIAC's University of Findlay in the region poll.
USI was trailed in the region by Quincy University, who is a half-game ahead of the Eagles and in the top spot of the West Division Northern Kentucky University, who leads the GLVC East Division and Grand Valley State University, who leads the GLIAC's North Division. The GLVC's University of Wisconsin-Parkside and Bellarmine University were ranked sixth and seventh, respectively, while Michigan Tech University rounds out the top eight.
The top eight teams at the end of the season will qualify for the NCAA Division II Tournament.
In addition to USI, the Great Lakes Region also has three other nationally ranked teams. Findlay is ranked fifth, while Grand Valley State is seventh and Quincy is 13th.
USI resumes action Thursday when it hosts the University of Missouri-St. Louis for a 7:30 p.m. contest.
