USI ranked by Division II Bulletin
Eagles earn second preseason ranking
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team received its second preseason ranking of the fall when the Division II Bulletin placed the Screaming Eagles in its Top 25 at number 10.
The Screaming Eagles, who were ranked seventh last week by the Sporting News 2007-08 College Basketball Magazine, have been ranked in the preseason each year since 1993-94 and have been a preseason fifth or better 11 times in the last 14 seasons.
The GLIAC's Grand Valley State University, the defending Great Lakes Regional champion, is third. The GLVC's Drury University is a preseason 19th, while Northern Kentucky University is listed in "Others to watch."
On the USI schedule, the Screaming Eagles will play Northwest Missouri State University, a preseason number four, and Southwest Minnesota State University, who was listed in the "Others to watch."
The Screaming Eagles tip-off the 2007-08 campaign with an exhibition game November 10 at 7:30 p.m.
