USI wins in final seconds at KWC, 79-77
Plummer scores with 2.6 seconds to give Eagles the win

Box Score: Southern Indiana 79, Kentucky Wesleyan 77

Norman Plummer

OWENSBORO, Ky. University of Southern Indiana senior forward Norman Plummer (Cincinnati, Ohio) scored with 2.6 seconds to give the Screaming Eagles a 79-77 victory over Kentucky Wesleyan College Saturday night at the Owensboro Sportscenter. USI gets its overall record back over .500 at 3-2 and starts GLVC action 1-0.

The Panthers fall to 5-2 overall and 0-1 in the GLVC.

Darren Cloud

Plummer scored the game winner on a lay-up after receiving a pass from USI sophomore guard Darren Cloud (Evansville, Indiana). KWC had a last second attempt by senior center Jeff Fahnbulleh, but it bounced off the rim.

The Eagles, who led 38-27 at the intermission, needed the last second bucket after the Panthers battled back from several double-digit deficits. KWC tied the game at 77-77 when Panther senior forward Rodney Edgerson hit a three-pointer with 23 seconds to play.

Overall, Plummer led the Eagles with 19 points, 14 points coming in the second half. He also led the team with seven rebounds and five assists, while shooting six-of-seven from the field and seven-of-12 from the charity stripe.

USI junior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York) followed Plummer with 17 points, 13 coming in the first half. The USI double-figure scorers were rounded off by the 13 point performances of Cloud and junior guard Josh Huebner (Evansville, Indiana).

Huebner, who signed at USI to play baseball this year, joined the team just two days ago to fill the spot of the injured senior guard Tyson Schnitker (Robinson, Illinois). Schnitker missed the game due to a broken toe. The junior guard was nearly perfect from the outside, hitting four-of-five field goals, and was perfect four-of-four from the line.

The Eagles return to the Physical Activities Center December 8 to start a four-game homestand, beginning December 8 against Ohio Valley University. Game time is 3:15 p.m.
