Plummer named NABC All-Great Lakes Region
The second regional honor for the USI senior forward
NABC All-Great Lakes Region Release
– University of Southern Indiana men's basketball senior forward Norman Plummer
(Cincinnati, Ohio) was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches All-Great Lakes Region second team in a vote of the region coaches. This is the second post-season regional honor for Plummer.
In addition to being named to the NABC region team, Plummer was named Daktronics first team All-Great Lakes Region by the region sports information directors. He also has been named the Division II Bulletin Player of the Month for December GLVC Player of Week twice and first team All-GLVC this year.
Plummer had an amazing year with the Screaming Eagles. He remains the GLVC leader with 19.5 points per game and number two in conference with 10.7 rebounds per contest. In 2007-08, Plummer recorded 13 double-doubles, including five straight to end the season.
He scored in double-figures 24 times this season, reaching the 20-point plateau 14 times. Plummer posted a season-high 30 points in USI's 83-60 victory over Ferris State University.
Plummer was ranked in seven GLVC statistical categories and was in the top 10 of six of those categories. Including scoring and rebounding, Plummer ranked first in offensive rebounds per game (3.59), second in total rebounds, third in defensive rebounds per game (7.11), seventh in field goal percentage (.579), eighth in minutes played per game (33.07), and 12th in steals per game (1.52).
If Plummer's scoring lead holds up, he will become the first USI player to lead the GLVC in scoring since Stephen Jackson led the league with 21.6 points per game in 1984-85, when USI was still known as Indiana State University-Evansville.
