USI adds high-intensity forward in Bradshaw

EVANSVILLE, Ind. The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team announced the signing of Tyrone Bradshaw, a 6-foot-9 junior forward, to a national letter of intent to play for the Screaming Eagles in 2008-09.

Bradshaw will transfer to USI from Southwestern Illinois College, which was 28-5 last season and ended the year ranked 16th in the NJCAA. He averaged nine points, three rebounds, and a team-high 2.5 blocks per game. The native of Cincinnati, Ohio, also posted season-bests of 32 points against Lake Land College and seven rebounds against Highland Community College.

Prior to attending SWIC, Bradshaw played for Taft High School in Cincinnati, Ohio.

"Tyrone is a high-level athlete that can change a game on the defensive end by blocking shots, rebounding, and the ability to guard multiple positions," said USI Head Coach Rick Herdes. "He will become a fan favorite as he plays above the rim and with a ton of energy."

The USI men's basketball team is coming off its 16th straight winning season that has included 15 20-win seasons and 14 NCAA Division II Tournament appearances. The Screaming Eagles also have won 27-or-more games four times in the last five seasons and included three GLVC West Division and two GLVC Tournament crowns.
