Pimble named preseason All-American
Eighth USI player to receive preseason honors since 2001
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – University of Southern Indiana men's basketball senior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York) was named honorable mention preseason All-American by Street & Smith's College Basketball. Pimble is the eighth USI player to receive preseason honors since Screaming Eagles' Head Coach Rick Herdes took over the program in 2001.
Pimble is USI's top returning scorer and rebounder after posting 11.4 points and 4.1 rebounds per game in his first season with the squad. He also led the team and ranked seventh in the GLVC with 47 steals (1.7 per game).
The senior forward scored a season-high 23 points in his USI debut against Harris-Stowe State University last November.
In addition to Pimble, the GLVC had three other players named honorable mention All-American by Street & Smith's College Basketball – Lewis University's Jason Genova; Kentucky Wesleyan College's T.J. Smith; and Northern Kentucky University's DeAaron Williams.
