Eagles continue homestand Saturday
USI hosts NAIA teams Saturday and Monday

EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team continues its six game homestand Saturday when it hosts the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) and concludes the middle portion of the homestand Monday when Missouri Baptist University comes to the Physical Activities Center. Both games have a start time of 7:30 p.m.
The Screaming Eagles (3-2) are 2-0 since returning to the PAC, defeating Urbana University in the home opener, 93-54, and Harris-Stowe State University, 103-58. The 100 points scored by USI against HSSU was the first time the Eagles have reached the century mark since 2006.
USI senior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York) and junior forward Brandon Russ (Cincinnati, Ohio) are leading the Eagles during the homestand with 17.0 points per game. Junior forward Tyrone Bradshaw (Cincinnati, Ohio) follows with 13.5 points per game off the bench and has a team-high six blocks.
For the season, Pimble is tops on the team with 13.4 points per contest, while Russ is second with 12.6 points per outing and a team-high 6.0 rebounds per appearance. Bradshaw leads the team and the GLVC with 19 blocks this year.
The Cougars of Saint Francis (5-1) come to the PAC with a five-game winning streak after defeating Cornerstone University, 86-78, Tuesday night. Saint Francis is led by forward DeJovaun Sawyer-Davis, who is averaging 23.7 points and 8.3 rebounds per contest.
USI leads the all-time series with Saint Francis, 4-1, and won the last meeting with the Cougars, 117-87, back in 1997-98. The series dates back to 1975-76.
The Spartans of Missouri Baptist have started the year 2-2, posting wins over Logan University and Lindenwood University and losses to Missouri Valley College and Avilia University. Missouri Baptist is led by guard Brandon Bishop with 17.8 points per game and guard Brandon Roberson with 17.5 points per contest.
USI also leads the all-time series with Missouri Baptist, 3-1. The squads have not met since 1988-89 when the Spartans defeated the Eagles, 92-85. The series began in 1976-77.
