Trailing 89-85, Florida Southern's guard Brandon Jenkins sank a three-pointer to pull the Moccasins back to within a point before USI ran out the clock for the 89-88 victory.

USI had three players score in double figures, led by Gray's 26-point performance. Gray, who kept the Eagles in the game during the first half by scoring 20 of his season-best 26 in the opening 20 minutes, was 11-of-13 from the field with two field goals from beyond the three-point arc.

Senior forward Anthony Pimble (Bronx, New York) followed Gray in the scoring column with 14 points, while senior guard Kenny Love (South Bend, Indiana) rounded out the double-figure scorers with 13 points.
