USI is third in first regional ranking
EVANSVILLE, Ind. – The 19th-ranked University of Southern Indiana men's basketball team was third in the first Midwest Regional poll of the 2008-09 season. The Screaming Eagles followed the University of Findlay, which is first nationally and regionally, and Bellarmine University, which is ranked eighth in the latest top 25 poll.
In addition to USI and Bellarmine, the GLVC is represented by Northern Kentucky University (fourth); Saint Joseph's College (fifth); Rockhurst University (seventh); Kentucky Wesleyan College (eighth); and Drury University (10th). Joining Findlay from the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference was Grand Valley State University (sixth) and Hilldale (ninth).
