Results
BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—University of Southern Indiana men’s track and field competitor Jesse Davis (Bloomington, Indiana) set a strong NCAA Division II provisional qualifying time in the 3,000-meter steeplechase Friday night at the Billy Hayes Invitational.
Davis ran one of USI’s fastest times in school history as he finished second in the event with a time of 9 minutes, 8.58 seconds. Davis’s time was one of the fastest times in Division II this spring and should solidify a trip to the NCAA II Outdoor Championships for the junior.
USI women’s freshman sprinter Natalie Clark (Newburgh, Indiana) also competed Friday night. Clark finished eighth in the 400 meters and 20th in the 200 meters.
The Screaming Eagles will compete at the GLVC Championships next Thursday and Friday, May 13-14, in Indianapolis, Indiana.
