Eagles' women second men third at Wabash Invitational

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana men's and women's indoor track and field teams combined for six first-place finishes Saturday at the Wabash Alumni Invitational.
USI's women racked up 118 points and finished second as a team, while the men tallied 105 points to place third.
Junior Missy Burgin (Sellersburg, Indiana) led the women's squad with a pair of first place finishes. Burgin placed first in the 800 meters and the 3,000 meters, setting meet records in both events.
Fellow classmate Natalie Clark (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) recorded a first-place finish in the 400 meters, while senior Crystal Stock (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) finished first in the mile.
Freshman Austin Inge (Ossian, Indiana) became USI's first men's runner in school history to win a sprinting event. Inge won the 200 meters, setting a school and meet record with a time of 22.23 seconds.
Senior Jesse Davis (Bloomington, Indiana) rounded out USI's first-place finishers. Davis won the 800 meters with a meet-record time of one minutes, 57.15 seconds.
USI returns to action Friday and Saturday at the McDonald's Invitational in Carbondale, Illinois.
