Eagles post two provisional qualifying marks at IU

BLOOMINGTON, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana women's indoor track and field team posted two NCAA II provisional qualifying marks Friday night at the Hoosier Relays.

Junior
Molly Gilland (Osgood, Indiana) posted a qualifying mark in the high jump with her career-best leap of five feet, six inches, while USI's distance medley relay (DMR) team posted a qualifying time of 12 minutes, 16.61 seconds. Both Gilland and the DMR squad posted fourth-place finishes.

Missy Burgin (Sellersburg, Indiana) and
Natalie Clark (Newburgh, Indiana), and freshman
Christy Dixon (Owensboro, Kentucky).

Jesse Davis (Bloomington, Indiana) and sophomore
Tristan Mannix (Crothersville, Indiana) led the men's squad with a pair of 10th-place finishes. Davis was 10th in the 800 meters with a time of one minute, 55.22 seconds, while Mannix was 10th in the mile with a finals time of four minutes, 29.40 seconds. Mannix ran the preliminaries of the mile in four minutes, 23.69 seconds Friday night before finishing 10th in the finals on Saturday.
USI returns to action Friday when it sends a small squad to Ames, Iowa, to compete in the Iowa State Classic. The rest of the Screaming Eagles will compete in the DePauw Invitational Saturday in Greencastle, Indiana.
