Eagles sending five to NCAA II Indoor Championships

EVANSVILLE, Ind.—The University of Southern Indiana is sending five student-athletes to compete in the 2006 NCAA II Indoor Track and Field Championships March 10-11 in Boston, Massachusetts.
Senior Jesse Davis (Bloomington, Indiana) will represent the men's squad in the 800 meters after his record-setting performance at the GLVC Indoor Championships this past Saturday. Davis ranks 11th with an adjusted time of one minute, 52.99 seconds.
Davis will compete in the prelims of the 800 meters March 10 at 5:30 p.m. (CST). The finals are March 11 at 2:56 p.m. (CST).
USI's women's distance medley relay team—consisting of juniors Missy Burgin (Sellersburg, Indiana) and Natalie Clark (Newburgh, Indiana) as well as senior Crystal Stock (Mt. Vernon, Indiana) and freshman Christy Dixon (Owensboro, Kentucky)—also will compete at the NCAA II Indoor Championships.
The DMR squad, which finished fifth at the NCAA II Indoor Championships last year, enters this season's field ranked fifth with a time of 11 minutes, 50.31 seconds.
Burgin will run the 1,200-meter lead leg of the relay, while Clark will follow with the 400-meter leg. Dixon will run the 800-meter leg before giving the baton to Stock, who will anchor the relay team with the 1,600-meter leg.
The finals of the women's DMR will take place March 10 at 7:05 p.m. (CST).
